Since 1983, he has grown the company into the largest real estate development and management firm in Santa Barbara County, acquiring more than three million square feet of coastal California apartment, office, retail, and self-storage properties. In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Slaught has held leadership roles in many of Southern California’s nonprofit organizations. He is a current board member of the UCSB Foundation; with prior service on the board of the Santa Barbara Hospice Foundation; and remains a substantial supporter to the Music Academy of the West, Santa Barbara Scholarship Foundation, and many local high schools.
