Chatting With Erkan Kemiksizgil, Internet Marketing Expert

One of the smartest minds I’ve come across over the years in the digital world happens to be Erkan Kemiksizgil. Known for his work as an Internet marketer, he has been able to build some great businesses over the last decade.

After seeing his recent interview on CoinReviews.io, I was intrigued and I recently reached out to chat with him to talk about how he works on a day-to-day basis, and some New York related questions as well. Living in NYC has its positives and negatives, and Erkan provided some great insight.

Describe a typical day at the desk. How do you stay organized?

I’ve worked for myself during much of my professional career, and it’s pretty much impossible to have success without being organized. It is very easy to be tempted to not work hard during the day, since there is no one to answer to.

I prefer getting to the desk and working earlier rather than later. When I spend a lot of late nights working, I find myself being less productive. An early start to the day gets everything going.

What advice can you share to help young entrepreneurs improve their productivity?

Find what works best for you individually and continue to do that. Every single person works in a different manner, so it is hard to get a true suggestions from others. For one example, I just said that I’m not that great at working at night, but others might be very productive during that time of the day.

I think it also helps to have a set amount of goals for the day, the week, the month and the year. That might seem excessive to those people who don’t put together goals consistently right now, but it provides something to work towards.

How has living in the NYC area helped you grow your business?

Every single business person I have come across in New York City loves the fact that networking is so easy. A lot of people move to the city to find the right opportunity in business. It certainly isn’t the most affordable area in the United States live, but it’s hard to argue with all the opportunities provided.

What’s one of your favorite books you’d read again as a refresher?

Unfortunately, I don’t really get a ton of time to read these days, although I have learned quite a bit from books in the past. I’m a big fan of reading people who have sustained success in the business world. There are a lot of people claiming to have all this success, but I’m a sucker for stability.

Out of books I’ve read lately, Deep Work by Cal Newport is one I really enjoyed. It was beneficial for me to read, and there are probably some things I didn’t catch the first time through. It helped me focus on individual tasks to get things done at a quicker pace, instead of trying to multitask all the time.

The famous Nusr-Et Steakhouse

How do you like to relax and unwind in NYC?

There is a lot to see and explore in New York City, and there is a ton I haven’t done in the city. With that said, I do have some go-to spots. I usually go to the same few parks for outdoor activities, and the same restaurants fairly close by.

Out of all my spots, I would have to say I like Nusr-Et Steakhouse as one of my favorites. What I like about it is they treat people like family, which isn’t always that easy to find in a big city like New York.
