VIDEO: VA pilot removes son's loose tooth with a helicopter
GREAT FALLS, VA (WWBT) - What do you do if your son has a loose tooth? For Rick Rahim, the solution was simple.
For a helicopter pilot, that is.
Rahim is an accomplished helicopter and airplane pilot. When his son had a loose tooth, he decided to remove it using an unusual method: a string...tied to a helicopter.
"Witness almost 1,000 HP of twin-engine, jet fueled dentistry," said Rahim in the YouTube summary.
The video shows Rahim in a helicopter, tied to a string which is also tied to the soon-to-be-airborne tooth in the mouth of his son.
At the end of the video, Rahim explains that he took several safety precautions before flying the helicopter.
"Do everything safely in life, and that's what we did today," said Rahim. "Whatever you do in life, make sure your kids have much, much, much more fun than you ever did as a kid. That's what it's all about."
Rahim, who holds the rank of Lt. Colonel, has over a decade of experience flying. He has also been honored as the #1 Young Eagles pilot in the State of Virginia by the Virginia Department of Aviation, and has flown for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
