Beth Lougee has served the students of Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District since July 2017. She began her educational career as a coach and substitute teacher in Wyoming while earning a double bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education K-12 in 1996 from Black Hills State University. She then went on to become a special

education teacher and a coach from 1996-2002, while earning master’s degrees in school counseling and administration K-12 from Chadron State College. From 2002-2006 she served as a school counselor until being hired as a K-12 principal in 2006 and served as principal to schools in Wyoming and New Mexico for the next decade. During her time as a principal she continued her education and earned an Education Specialist Degree-Superintendent in 2011. In 2017 she and her husband moved to Ketchikan where she took over the role as Curriculum Director for Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District. After only one year in the district, she became Superintendent of Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District as of January 2019. She is currently a doctorate student at North Central University. Mrs. Lougee is married to David, a career educator, and they have two sons, married and soon to be married, and five beautiful grandchildren all living in Wyoming.
