MONTICELLO - The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library is offering a variety of programs for kids and teens.

On Dec. 9 from 5-7:45 p.m., the library will participate in the Hour of Code. Kids ages 8-12 can sign up to learn basic coding. At the end of the hour, they will receive a certificate of completion.

On Dec. 28, the library will hold its first Lego Club. There will be two sessions: the first from 11 a.m.-noon and the second from 4-5 p.m. Kids ages 7-11 will work together to complete a challenge using Lego bricks and their imaginations. Space is limited. Register for one session only.

There are activities for teens at the library, too. The first Saturday of every month at 1 p.m. is a teen movie. Teens can enjoy a free movie on the big screen, and are welcome to bring a snack. The Teen Advisory Group is meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 16. Teens who participate will earn one hour of community service credit for attending.

This month’s Teen Tuesday will be a Mario Kart tournament. On Dec. 22 from 4-6 p.m., teens can come to the library to test their racing skills. The WiiU will be set up on the big screen, and first place will win a prize. Space is limited in this program, so call to register.

The library will hold a Harry Potter Movie Marathon on Dec. 28-31. Watch all eight Harry Potter movies on the big screen, and play Harry Potter trivia between movie showings. This program is for all ages.
