I was excited to be in Ottawa, Canada, this week alongside industry colleagues and value chain partners as the fourth meeting of the UN Environment Programme’s Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-4) gets underway. It's tremendously energizing to see delegates and leaders from nearly 200 countries, NGOs, and companies all in one place for this hugely important week to advance negotiations towards the world's first global plastics pollution agreement. And it’s incredibly important to listen to concerns and suggestions for solutions from all sides because it takes all of us to end plastics pollution in a sustainable, inclusive, and definitive way.   If you want to learn more about the significance of this global effort, I encourage you to read a piece published yesterday in Forbes with comments from Dow Chair and CEO, Jim Fitterling.   As Jim outlines, a plastics treaty will take policies, investment, technology, and behavior change all coming together to drive a circular economy, including Dow following through on its own commitments, such as creating plastic with diverse, sustainable feedstock, reducing emissions from production and convening partnerships that unlock value in plastic waste. We know there's tremendous change required to drive a circular economy for plastics. But rarely does progress come easy!
