This weekend Queen's Women in Computing hosted HackHer, an annual hackathon for gender minorities in computer science. It was such an honour to present my work at Intermap Technologies, Inc. developing semantic segmentation U-Net models to identify trees from satellite imagery. Huge thank you to Natalie Findlay and Victoria Mantey for following up my presentation with their insightful and empowering Q&A. Over the course of my internship I have gained so much hands-on experience in geospatial AI which wouldn’t have been possible without the fundamentals Queen's University equipped me with. Congratulations to Sari Pagurek van Mossel, Jade Warren, and Maria Kobilaski for pulling off such an awesome event. Can’t wait to see where the club will go next year!
