The Sandy Springs Conservancy presented the city of Sandy Springs with $20,000 for parks and trails projects at the City Council meeting on June 18, 2024. Sandy Springs Conservancy Board Chair Jack Misiura and Development Chair Alexandra Allen presented the funds, $10,000 made possible by a grant from The Bennett Thrasher Foundation for improvements to Abernathy Greenway Park South and $10,000 made possible by a donation from Northside Hospital for Springway segment 2E trail efforts. The Sandy Springs Conservancy was established in 2001 in a grass-roots effort by citizens to preserve rapidly disappearing greenspace and recreation areas in Sandy Springs. Our mission is to build partnerships that create, conserve, and connect parks and greenspace in Sandy Springs. We strongly believe that parks, greenspace, and trails are economic engines that will help transform Sandy Springs from a place to go through to a place to go to. Even as the second largest city in the metro Atlanta area, we want Sandy Springs to continue to offer the natural charm we all enjoy. The gift of greenspace will enhance our community for generations to come!

Join us at Sandy Springs Education Force's 15th Annual STEAM Showcase on March 5th, 6-8 pm at North Springs High School. The Design Team at Cox Enterprises will teach participants about the importance of empathy and understanding your customers.
