QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Will the bullnose corner gauge work for all trim - not just baseboards?

Yes, it should! Our users have used it for chair rails and crown molding in addition to baseboards. However, because of the hood, if you have a steep piece of crown molding or a single piece, it might be difficult to make marks directly, instead you would need to mark the wall and transfer your mark.

  • How do I get the measurements for the small piece that goes on the rounded corner?

The Bullnose Corner Gauge itself will tell you how close to 90-degrees your corner is. The more flush it sits with the wall, the closer your wall is to 90-degrees. Because you are making 4 cuts on a 90-degree corner you should make 4 22.5-degree cuts (90/4 = 22.5).

In terms of size and not angle, the inside part of the center piece should measure at least 5/8''. Some DIYers that we have talked with had a good experience doing 3/4''

  • What angle do I cut trim for rounded corners?

Both your side pieces of baseboard or trim and centerpiece need to be cut at 22.5-degrees. This assumes your corner is a true 90-degrees. Most miter saws have a spot to lock the miter for this common cut.
