U.S. workers covered by self-funded health insurance plans 1999-2023
According to the data, among all firms, the percentage of employees covered by self-funded plans had increased from 44 percent in 1999 to a record high of 67 percent in 2020 before decreasing slightly to 65 percent in 2023.
