Douglass WiSE
Douglass Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) at Rutgers
STEM Community and Innovation
The Douglass Women in Science and Engineering community provides high impact experiences, cultivating one’s STEM identity in the pursuit of a STEM degree and career. At the core of WiSE’s mission is the support for persistence in majors where there is a historical and continued gender disparity at the university level and in the workforce, including engineering, formal sciences, physical sciences, and natural sciences.
Formerly known as the Douglass Project since 1986, the new Douglass WiSE name given in 2021 highlights the mission of this established and sustainable program. Today, over half of Douglass College’s population consists of STEM students, a testament to the value of our programming.
Whether you are in the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering, School Environmental and Biological Sciences, School of Pharmacy, or School of Nursing, be WiSE and add Douglass during your Rutgers experience! Learn more about Douglass STEM programs.
