The only constant in the restaurant industry? Change. Shannon Hennessy doesn’t just accept change, she harnesses it. Her ability to adapt, shift, and lead through uncertainty is what sets her apart. In the April cover story of QSR Magazine, Shannon shares how she’s embraced the power of the pivot, evolving the business while staying rooted in what matters most: quality, hospitality, and fresh, cooked-to-order food. A must-read for anyone navigating change. “We have to shift our mindset to view change as an opportunity to unlock a different way of thinking…" Shannon says. "We figure out how to get better during a crisis and leapfrog from those moments where we got handed something we didn’t ask for.” Read the story 👉 https://lnkd.in/exc4QhYM

We are celebrating the women who break barriers, shatter stereotypes, and pave the way for future generations in the construction industry. At Habit Burger & Grill, we are proud to spotlight five incredible women who are not just shaping the future of construction, but also proving that glass ceilings are meant to be broken. 🚧💪 Tracy Cooper – Senior Construction Manager With 24 years of experience, Tracy has seen it all. From managing historical hotel renovations to supporting restaurant growth, she’s a powerhouse in every sense. Tracy once had a conference introduce her as “Mr. Cooper” – she stood up, corrected them, and turned it into a running joke. It’s moments like these that remind us how far we’ve come and how important it is to embrace humor in the face of stereotypes. Michelle Hindman – Associate Manager of Construction With a strong background in environmental studies and project management, Michelle ensures construction projects are executed seamlessly. Her experience at Yard House and UC Irvine gives her the expertise to manage procurement and construction administration with precision, all while balancing her love for concerts and family time. Courtney Berger – Construction Coordinator Courtney's 15+ years in restaurant construction have made her a key player in developing new restaurant locations. Her leadership in procurement, scheduling, and safety standards ensures every project runs smoothly. When she’s not on a job site, you’ll find her enjoying a beach day or cheering on her son at a game. Shannon McGrew – Project Designer Shannon’s keen design eye and background in restaurant spaces elevate every project they touch. From collaborating with teams to enhancing customer experience, Shannon’s work is as innovative as it is functional. And yes, Shannon’s talents even made it to TV on the DIY Network’s Man Caves. Karen Garcia – Analyst in Construction Management Starting in accounting and moving into construction management, Karen is the organizational force behind ensuring projects stay on time and within budget. Her attention to detail makes her an invaluable asset to the team. To the remarkable women on our team: thank you for your dedication, your passion for breaking boundaries, and for proving that the construction world is better with women leading the way. 🏗️✨

We believe great food starts with great talent. That’s why we were proud to support the next generation of culinary leaders as a National Team sponsor at the 23rd annual California Restaurant Foundation ProStart Cup! 🍽️🔥 The competition was fierce, the flavors bold, and the creativity off the charts. Habit’s Head Chef, Jason Triail, had the honor of judging, getting a front-row seat (and a very full plate) of incredible talent. "These students brought serious talent to the table… and I had to taste all of it. Let’s just say, by the end, I was one bite away from a food coma. But it was worth every forkful to see the passion and creativity these future chefs put into their dishes. Huge congrats to all the competitors!" – Chef Jason A huge congratulations to the winners: 🏆 Orange County School of the Arts – 1st Place, Restaurant Concept 💡 BondFire: A quick-casual spot where campfire vibes meet adventure-ready eats. 🏆 San Dimas High – 1st Place, Culinary Competition 🍽️ Chilean seabass in coconut, ginger & lemongrass broth 🥩 Lamb strip loin with truffle pomme purée 🍫 Coconut mousse with mint-cherry compote Read all about it on our blog 👉 https://lnkd.in/gzx4garN
