Ondas Holdings announces that the Association of American Railroads has selected the IEEE 802.16t Direct Peer-to-Peer (DPP) protocol—developed by Ondas Networks in collaboration with industry—as the new standard for Next-Generation HOT-EOT (NGHE Gen4) communications. This advancement supports safer, more efficient train telemetry for longer trains and marks a major step forward in modernizing freight rail operations. 802.16t was purpose-built for mission-critical industrial networks and is expected to serve as the wireless backbone for future rail communications.
