Jimmy O'Connor has returned home to the Gulf Coast, ready to reclaim his job at the shipyard and rebuild the life he’d left behind. But a hazing incident on his first day leads Jimmy to suspect his new boss might have been involved in his father’s death decades ago.

 

Those suspicions are heightened when Jimmy is given his dad’s old journal and he sets off to find out what really happened the night his father drowned. In a three-day journey that takes him to Horn Island all the way to Memphis and back, Jimmy discovers the truth of the past is messier than he could have ever expected.
