We are proud to announce positive data from a phase 2 study of PEX010 in patients with alcohol use disorder. The open-label study at Psykiatrisk Center København found that alcohol consumption significantly decreased amongst participants dosed with Filament’s botanical psilocybin drug candidate. After a single dose of PEX010, the mean percentage of heavy drinking days was reduced by more than 50% over the 12-week observation period. From our CEO, Benjamin Lightburn: “We are thrilled to announce positive results which support the efficacy of PEX010. These data reinforce our confidence in the potential of botanical psilocybin to help the millions of people suffering from substance use disorders like AUD. We look forward to advancing to the next stage of development.” https://lnkd.in/gv-zQP8B

Benjamin Lightburn was a guest on the Causes or Cures Podcast and spoke to ErinKate Stair about how Filament develops natural psychedelic medicines and insights into early results from our clinical trials at leading academic research institutions.
What's the difference between a natural psychedelic and a synthetic one, and does it matter? Filament Health CEO Ben Lightburn came on the Causes or Cures podcast to explain. He also describes some of the clinical trials they are doing...including one for "existential crisis" which was cool to hear about. :) Tune in here: https://lnkd.in/ecediuvT #psychedelicmedicine #causesorcures #benlightburn #psychedelicresearch #naturalpsychedelics #psychedelicrevolution #healthpodcast #sciencepodcast

Filament Health recently shipped its botanical #psilocybin #drug candidate, PEX010, to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for investigation in two #clinicaltrials. The FDA-authorized trials will study the effects of psilocybin on neuroplasticity, which refers to the ability of the brain to adapt to new situations. "Our goal with this research is to examine how psilocybin's effects on neuroplasticity may impact participants' wellbeing and their ability to understand the world around them," said Charles Raison, MD, principal investigator of both clinical trials and professor of #psychiatry at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. Both clinical trials are expected to begin in Q1 2025. We're proud to supply the SAP with our botanical psilocybin so that Canadian patients receive much-needed access.
Good news - Health Canada has approved psilocybin to treat Jody Lance's cluster headaches. This is the first time a patient has been granted legal access to psilocybin for cluster headaches in Canada. The SAP authorization and s. 56 exemption let Mr. Lance possess and self-administer 8 doses of 12 mg of Filament Health's psilocybin extract over the course of 4 days upon the onset of a cluster headache attack. Thanks to Ministers Holland and Saks and the SAP team at Health Canada for recognizing Mr. Lance's dire need and having compassion on him.

Today we announced the authorization by both FDA and Health Canada | Santé Canada of a Phase 2 clinical trial studying PEX010 for methamphetamine use disorder (MAUD). This will be the first ever clinical trial to study the safety and efficacy of botanical psilocybin in a MAUD patient population. From Principal Investigator, Dr. Christian G. Schütz: “Existing clinical data indicates that psilocybin shows promise for the treatment of MAUD. Our aim with this trial is to assess the safety and efficacy of PEX010 in the treatment of MAUD, and to evaluate changes in participants’ substance use, cravings, motivation, and recovery capital. We are grateful to Filament Health for funding and facilitating this much-needed research.” We are also pleased to announce a C$1 million bridge financing with Negev Capital and our CEO Benjamin Lightburn, which will facilitate the continued advancement of our clinical development programs. https://lnkd.in/gAcbVafM
