If you received an email or letter from VisionPoint Eye Center, PLLC (“VisionPoint”) informing you that your sensitive personal and protected health information was compromised in a data breach, you may be entitled to compensation. VisionPoint recently disclosed that it was the victim of a data breach that compromised thousands of individuals’ sensitive personal and protected health information.
On October 3, 2024, VisionPoint became aware of a security incident on its IT Network. VisionPoint launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cyber security experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that unauthorized third-party may have acquired certain sensitive personal information of individuals.
VisionPoint then launched a comprehensive review of the incident to identify the exact type of information compromised as well identify individuals impacted in the data breach. On October 29, 2024, the review was completed, and it was determined that sensitive personal information was compromised. On December 13, 2024, VisionPoint issued a public disclosure and started sending out notice letters and emails to affected individuals.
Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal and protected health information may have been breached:
