What is this about?

If you received an email or letter from Pacific Pulmonary Medical Group (“PPMG”) informing you that your sensitive personal and protected health information was compromised in a data breach, you may be entitled to compensation. PPMG recently disclosed that it was the victim of a data breach that compromised individuals’ sensitive personal and protected health information.

What Happened?

On or about October 22, 2024, PPMG became aware of a security incident on its IT Network. PPMG launched an investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third-party gained access to PPMG’s IT Network between October 21, 2024, and October 22, 2024.

PPMG then launched a comprehensive review of the incident to identify the exact type of information compromised as well identify the individuals impacted in the data breach. On January 3, 2025, PPMG issued a public disclosure and started sending out notice letters and emails to affected individuals.

What Information Was Impacted?

Although PPMG did not disclose the exact type of information compromised, data breaches of such nature generally compromise the following sensitive personal and protected health information:

• Name,
• Social Security number,
• Date of birth,
• Medical health information, and
• Health insurance information.
