If you received an email or letter from AT Retirement Services, LLC and American Trust Company (both entities are collectively described herein as “American Trust Retirement”) informing you that your sensitive personal information was compromised in a data breach, you may be entitled to compensation. American Trust Retirement recently disclosed that it was the victim of a data breach that compromised thousands of individuals’ sensitive personal information.
On or about August 13, 2024, American Trust Retirement became aware of a security incident on its IT Network specifically email environment. American Trust Retirement immediately began an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third-party copied certain emails without authorization between August 8, 2024, and August 13, 2024.
American Trust Retirement then launched a comprehensive review to identify the exact type of information compromised as well identify the individuals affected in the data breach. On December 5, 2024, American Trust Retirement’s review determined that sensitive personal information related to certain individuals was stored in the relevant emails at the time of the incident which may have been compromised. On December 31, 2024, American Trust Retirement issued a public disclosure and started sending out notice letters and emails to affected individuals.
Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive personal information may have been breached:
