For more than 20 years, Matthew Bacchiochi has been coordinating the financial affairs for NHL players and affluent families in Canada and the United States. In 2003, he co-founded Gavin Hockey Wealth Specialists (known as GAVIN) with Stew Gavin. Matthew established the firm’s investment philosophy, portfolio management process, financial planning program and compliance regime.

As president of GAVIN, Matthew leads a team of financial planners and portfolio managers whose shared purpose is growing and defending their clients’ wealth. The team is inspired to serve and committed to working together to achieve clients’ objectives through its rigorous Goals Matter process. GAVIN is characterized by its close relationships, exclusive clients and a shared understanding – that people derive the most happiness from being able to do what they want, when they want. Achieving financial security makes that possible.

Matthew has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance from Concordia University. He was a recent honouree of the Concordia 50 Under 50 who are defining the world of tomorrow. In addition, Matthew holds the Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Planner and Trust & Estate Practitioner designations. He is a registered portfolio manager in Canada, and a registered investment adviser in the U.S.

Matthew played junior hockey and continues to have a passion for hockey, soccer and CFL football. He and his spouse reside in Mississauga and have four children. His volunteer activities include coaching with Mississauga Girls Hockey League, and supporting the efforts of the Down Syndrome Association of Peel and St. Martin of Tours Parish.
