What is this about?

If you recently booked a hotel reservation, your sensitive personal information may have been impacted by a data breach. Otelier, a hotel management platform used by more than 10,000 hotels including the Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and Wyndham chains, experienced a data breach exposing individuals senstive personal information.

What Happened?

Otelier suffered a data breach after threat actors breached its Amazon S3 cloud storage and stole millions of guests' personal information and reservations data. In response, Otelier launched an investigation and engaged a team of leading cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the data breach.

Otelier’s investigation determined that the data breach first occurred in July 2024 when an unauthorized third party gained access to company systems using stolen employee login credentials, with continued unauthorized access through October 2024. The threat actors claimed to have stolen nearly eight terabytes of data from Otelier's Amazon AWS S3 buckets.

What Information Was Impacted?

Upon information and belief, the following types of sensitive information may have been compromised as a result of the data breach:

• Names,
• Addresses,
• Phone numbers,
• Email addresses,
• Transactions, and
• Other internal data.
