According to cybersecurity news publication SuspectFile.com, DragonForce posted on its blog that it exfiltrated nearly 540GB of data from the medical provider's servers. The stolen data includes sensitive personal and health data belonging to Asheville Eye Associates patients and employees. The breach may have compromised sensitive personal and protected health information of both patients and employees.
As of January 31, 2025, full details of the breach have not been officially disclosed on Asheville Eye Associates' website. However, a filing was made on January 17, 2025, to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
