What are we looking for?
We are seeking groundbreaking ideas, concepts, and prototypes that offer solutions to complex and high-impact problems in defence and security. Our Contests welcome innovations at various stages of development, with Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) ranging from 1 to 6 (Learn more about TRLs)
Why participate?
By participating in and being selected for these Contests, you gain the opportunity to secure grant prizes that will propel your research and development. Our Contests offer more than financial rewards—participants collaborate with DND/CAF stakeholders, gaining valuable feedback to ensure alignment with real-world needs.
Funding details
Each Contest offers a customized prize pool to support innovative solutions. Depending on the Contest, funding may be distributed across multiple rounds or as a single award, enabling participants to further develop and refine their concepts.
Who can apply?
Contests are open to Canadian innovators, excluding federal government departments, Crown corporations, and their employees.
