Hello prospectors & developers, Motherlode Consulting Inc. brings you our 30th post of world-class mineral districts focused on #silver in #Peru. #Peru ranks Top 59 of the world for its Investment Attractiveness measured in The Fraser Institute Annual Survey of Mining Companies 2023, and has drawn the attention of 42 mining & exploration companies 25 being Canadian-listed, 4-listed in other exchanges and 12 being private companies. Peru hosts a variety of silver deposits, including #epithermal #veins, polymetallic #skarn deposits, and #porphyry systems. Epithermal deposits, often associated with volcanic activity, feature high-grade silver veins accompanied by gold and base metals. Polymetallic skarn deposits occur at the contact zones between intrusions and carbonate rocks, rich in silver, lead, and zinc. Porphyry systems, typically linked to large intrusive bodies, are significant sources of silver as a by-product of copper and gold mining. The image below shows the number of primary silver projects in Peru distributed through the Lassonde Curve. There are 17 producing projects in this region operated by several large cap mining companies including Pan American Silver Corp., Compañía de Minas Buenaventura, Fortuna Mining, Hochschild Mining PLC, Korea Zinc Company, Ltd (고려아연), and Volcan Compañía Minera, among others. Some of the largest developing projects in feasibility stage (4), PFS/Scoping stage (3) and Resource-definition stage (15) include @Bear Creek Mining Corp’s Corani (376 Mt @ 39.2 g/t Ag), SSR Mining Inc.’s Berenguela (62 Mt @ 70 g/t Ag), Volcan Compañía Minera’s Palma (24 Mt @ 22 g/t Ag) and Hochschild Mining PLC’s Crespo (23 Mt @ 40 g/t Ag) among others. There is a vast amount of exploration stage projects in this region (47). Condor Resources announced this morning that we have tripled our concession size at Huinac Punta to 7,200 ha, our project 65km from Antamina in Peru that has the potential to host a large carbonate replacement style (CRD) silver-dominant polymetallic mineralized body where we hope to make a new district-scale silver and base metals discovery. Thus far, high-grade silver and elevated copper, zinc, lead, and cobalt values have been found through sampling of existing surface exposures including two samples at 4,115 and 3,225 g/t Ag.
