Asopa moved to Canada when he was 24 after having completed his undergraduate degree, post-graduate program in business management, and his education at the renowned Barry John Acting Studio.  He then made his film debut in 2006.  Asopa appeared in movies such as No Place to Hide, Karim, Bollydouble, and Reel Zombies as well as maintaining parts on the television series Pastor Greg and Ghostly Encounters.  After gaining such valuable experience, he formed his own production company, Asopa Films Inc.  Asopa has since been a force to be reckoned with in the independent film industry producing captivating feature films that defy the conventions of traditional genres.  Asopa creates multifaceted story lines which include various elements of drama, thriller, horror, and romance.  This unique blending of genres is precisely the distinct style that sets Asopa apart from his peers.  While developing his scripts and working in multiple capacities both in front of and behind the camera, Asopa emphasizes the importance of every aspect of a film to lend to the story’s complexity.  Asopa is a proud member of the Directors Guild of Canada based in Toronto, but he also frequently travels to Hollywood in Los Angeles, California in the U.S.  He particularly loves to vacation in Beverly Hills and maintains a healthy and active lifestyle while enjoying the company of other film professionals.  This wholesome lifestyle helps to keep Asopa focused on his passion of communicating unique, untold stories through strategic film making.

One particular element that can speak volumes, whether it is subtly represented or boldly highlighted, is film fashion.  Directors tend to orient the style or fashion of a character to portray that character in a specific way elevating the film’s aesthetics.  The way certain characters dress within a film can impact the audience’s perceptions both emotionally and intellectually.  Asopa says, “Style and looks are very important to define characters and their personalities. It not only connects the audience to what they are watching, but also communicates a message from the director’s perspective.”  It also has become crucial to remain current with different styles that are considered trendy and symbolic as many films rely on outfit and costume selection to be an integral part of the development of a narrative.  Being exceptionally attentive to story development, Asopa believes fashion is helpful to connect different age groups by the way they don various, unique styles.  It can greatly reflect on the writing of a character that falls into a specific age group by carrying that kind of authentic look on screen.  Asopa tends to prefer formal looks for his male characters on screen, because a well-dressed personality can represent a unique character regarding his body language, style, and the colors he chooses.  Also, a character’s accessories like watches, sunglasses, or even the car he drives can add to his cinematic persona.  Asopa likes to convey the importance of female fashion, yet he does not particularly prefer one look over another.  He wants to see the female character exhume confidence when carrying herself through a film.  Asopa also likes to use matching accessories like jewelry, watches, and shoes to complete the looks of his female characters.  As a whole, Asopa believes that it does not really matter what outfit a person is wearing as long as he or she can sport that fashion and sense of style confidently.
