About the Survey

The CFO Survey offers insights from business leaders on the financial outlook for their firms, the challenges they face, and their expectations for the economy. The CFO Survey panel includes firms that range from small operations to Fortune 500 companies across all major industries. Partners

The CFO Survey is one of the most comprehensive and longestā€running surveys of financial decision-makers. Started in 1996 by Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, the quarterly survey is now conducted in partnership with the Federal Reserve Banks of Richmond and Atlanta. The partnership, which began in the second quarter of 2020, enables Duke and the Richmond and Atlanta Feds to leverage their collective expertise in survey design and data analysis.

For a discussion of the survey's history and recent enhancements, please read "Introducing The CFO Survey." More details on changes to survey questions are available in The CFO Survey Methodology.

Special thanks to the Financial Executives Networking Group (FENG) for their assistance with identifying survey participants.
