🧠 Stress isn’t just a state of mind—it’s a full-body hormonal response. When left unchecked, it becomes a silent disruptor of health, productivity, and overall quality of life—especially in the workplace. This Stress Awareness Month, we’re calling attention to a critical truth: ➡️ Chronic stress doesn’t belong in our job descriptions. And yet, it continues to impact absenteeism, retention, performance, and the long-term wellbeing of employees—often without being addressed in corporate wellness strategies. At Science&Humans, we’re spotlighting the science behind stress—because understanding it is the first step toward managing it. 📉 Elevated cortisol levels over time can cause hormonal imbalances that affect: Sleep and metabolism Menstrual cycles and fertility Mental clarity, mood, and energy Burnout risk and biological aging 💡 For women, these effects are amplified—particularly during perimenopause and other hormonally sensitive life stages. Let’s equip employees with the tools to understand their stress and transform their health—from the inside out. Because stress may be part of life, but struggling through it shouldn’t be part of the workplace. #StressAwarenessMonth #HormoneHealth #EmployeeWellbeing #WorkplaceWellness #MentalHealthAtWork #Cortisol #FunctionalMedicine #ScienceAndHumans #CorporateHealth

In a time when employee well-being is at the forefront of business priorities, menopause care remains shockingly under-addressed. Despite three-quarters of women feeling comfortable talking to their physicians about menopause, only one-quarter say their doctor proactively discusses it with them. This reveals a glaring gap in healthcare support that not only affects women’s health but also their productivity and overall engagement in the workplace. With 1.1 billion women globally navigating menopause, it’s time businesses take action. Menopausal women are a vital part of the workforce, yet they often face inadequate support during a significant life transition. The need for personalized, proactive menopause care is clear—and businesses that offer this will lead the way in supporting a healthier, more engaged workforce. In the 1700s and 1800s, menopause was described as a “tragedy and catastrophic attack”—a phase where women were labeled as “dull, unattractive, and cowlike.” Society saw menopause as the end of a woman’s value, dismissing her contributions, wisdom, and strength. But they couldn’t have been more wrong. For too long, menopause has been shrouded in stigma, treated as something to hide or fix. But today, women are redefining this life stage. They are leading businesses, driving change, and proving that menopause isn’t an expiration date—it’s an evolution. In some cultures, menopause is seen as a “second spring”—a time of renewal, freedom, and stepping into one's full power. That’s the narrative we should be embracing. Menopausal women bring experience, resilience, and leadership to the table. It’s time workplaces, healthcare, and society recognize and support them. 💪 Menopause isn’t the end. It’s a legacy in the making. Let’s talk. Let’s support. Let’s rewrite the story—together. #MenopauseMatters #LivingLegends #MenopauseRevolution #BreakingTheStigma

But what does true care really mean? For too long, menopause care has been rushed and incomplete—quick visits, short conversations, and a focus on isolated symptoms. Brain fog? Try to sleep more. Hot flashes? Dress in layers. Mood swings? Maybe an antidepressant. But menopause is more than just a list of symptoms—it impacts every part of your life and deserves better care. Real care means: 🕰 Time to talk—appointments that go beyond a few minutes, allowing space for real conversations. 👂 A whole-body approach—treating the root causes, not just masking symptoms, with both hormonal and non-hormonal solutions. 🔎Expert guidance that evolves with you—because menopause isn’t one moment in time, and your needs can change overtime. Through our surveys, we’ve seen the difference this kind of care makes. Sleep improves. Energy returns. Clarity replaces the fog. Life feels like yours again. We bring together the best of functional and conventional medicine because this phase of life deserves more than a quick fix—it deserves real support. #MenopauseCare #RedefiningHealthcare #HormoneHealth #ListenFirst #FeelLikeYourselfAgain

Testosterone in Women: Beyond the Headlines As a leader in the Canadian Hormone Health industry, the recent Time article-https://lnkd.in/eiA2TWBZ - on testosterone therapy for women brings much-needed attention to an often-overlooked hormone. While testosterone is typically associated with men, it plays a critical role in women’s energy, cognition, muscle mass, and libido—and its decline, especially in midlife, can have real effects. To shed some light on the necessity for personalized care, let’s understand and dive into how testosterone imbalances manifests in women! 🔹 The Midlife Energy Drain - Feeling —- (Perimenopause, 40s) A woman in her early 40s notices she’s struggling with motivation, endurance, and mental clarity. Her estrogen levels are fluctuating, but her testosterone is also declining, contributing to this loss of drive. Based on her bloodwork, she may or may not need testosterone therapy. However, strength training, stress management, and nutrition adjustments can help optimize her levels. 🔹 The Postmenopausal Libido Decline - (50s+) A woman well past menopause has tried estrogen therapy, but her libido and sexual response remain low. Her testosterone is at the very bottom of the range, which can affect arousal and sexual satisfaction. Testosterone therapy can be prescribed off-label to address low libido in postmenopausal women when the clinician deems it to be a fitting treatment based on clinical judgment. As the Time article highlights, research suggests it can be beneficial when used in the right dose and under medical supervision. 🔹 Testosterone Imbalance After Hormone Therapy - (Late 40s–50s) A woman on estrogen therapy for menopausal symptoms finds that while her hot flashes may have improved, she still feels unusually fatigued and weak. Estrogen alone can sometimes suppress free testosterone, leading to low energy and muscle loss. In these cases, a full hormone assessment is key before considering additional treatment. We can predict that these scenarios highlight a bigger issue: Women’s testosterone health is highly individualized, yet underlooked and ignored. The Time article effectively explores the current state of testosterone therapy, emphasizing the gap in research and the absence of standardized guidelines, which ultimately prevents women from getting the care they need. This conversation is just beginning. ✅ We need better research to define and understand testosterone therapy for women. ✅ Estrogen isn’t the only hormone that defines women—every hormone plays a crucial role. ✅ Personalized treatment options are needed to ensure women get the right care for their changing needs. What are your thoughts on the future of testosterone therapy for women? Let’s discuss. 👇 #WomensHealth #Menopause #HormoneHealth

💼 They’re in your workforce. They’re leading your teams. But too many are being pushed out. With 2 million working women in Canada between the ages of 45-55—the prime years for leadership and experience—menopause is a workplace reality. Yet, instead of being supported, many struggle in silence. 📉 $3.3 billion in lost income—as women reduce hours, take lower-paying roles, or leave the workforce from unmanaged symptoms. 🔇 67% don’t feel comfortable talking to their supervisor about what they’re experiencing. 🚪 1 in 10 leaves the workforce entirely because of menopause symptoms. Menopause doesn’t clock out at 9 AM. It doesn’t pause for meetings. It affects productivity, retention, and well-being. If we want to create truly inclusive workplaces, that has to change. It’s time to break the stigma. It’s time to talk. It’s time for action. Menopause Works Here. Connect with us today: https://bit.ly/4kEB5Q3 #MenopauseAtWork #WorkplaceWellness #BreakingTheStigma
