Easier Serviceability

Serviceability is built into every single panel and component, with exposed fasteners and easy in-cab access to the HVAC, ABS, ECU, Transmission Control Module, and three smart fuse boxes. Plus, there are easy access panels to the rear of the engine, the transmission, the roof, and more.

All welded steel cab construction provides maximum durability

Galvanealed steel doors: Door structure and door handle requirements built for extreme conditions and can support 450 lbs drivers getting in and out of the cab. Door hinges and A-pillar design feature oversized fasteners with piano type hinges engineered to withstand toughest door opening & slamming situations.

Steering Effort and Maneuverability

Dual Sheppard M100 steering gears rated for 23K front GAWR are standard for lower steering effort and route fatigue, and tighter turning radius

The DC-64 offers a range of Allison RDS4500 and 4700 series automatic transmissions for fuel-efficiency, maximum torque at low speeds, reliability, and ease of use. Customers can select from a full-range of rear engine PTO and FEPTO options, and the DC-64 can also be spec'd with a true retarder system for dramatically lower brake wear.

Electrical System

Autocar set the standard for best-in-class system durability, protection and serviceability. Water sealed connectors in easy to reach locations for fault finding and testing, breathable harness coverings for better protection to keep out water, dirt and chemicals, improved routing from the bottom frame flange and Hellerman Titan clamping system used to support the harness every 12”.
