Detroit Youth Service Corps (DYSC)

Serve, Learn, Earn, Grow

Wayne State University’s Detroit Youth Service Corps (DYSC) program offers an amazing opportunity for young adults to get paid  to develop life & career skills and serve their community in a positive way! Members may also qualify for emergency cash assistance with rent,transportation, utilities and food. This opportunity is for individuals of the ages of 17-24. If you’re older than 24 you can serve with the AmeriCorps Urban Safety Program (AMUS) at Wayne State University.

Serve

Members can serve up to a year-long term of service (24-40 hours per week) completing projects within their community.

Learn

Engage in hands-on learning about community organizing, workforce development and life skills, local government, and various career paths.

Earn

A bi-weekly living allowance of up to $530 and education award up to $4,440 (approximate) upon successful completion.
