The Metals Company is a developer of the world’s largest estimated resource of battery metals for EVs. TMC’s estimated resource contains a very high concentration of nickel, copper, manganese and cobalt, with sufficient resource to electrify 280 million EVs, equivalent to the size of the entire US passenger vehicle fleet. The polymetallic nodules have been described as an EV “battery in a rock.” The nodules sit unattached on the seafloor, so nodule collection requires no blasting or drilling or deep digging – it’s similar to picking up golf balls on a driving range.
