About The Project

The initiative empowers marginalized girls and young women to develop STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) competencies and critical thinking skills through an inclusive gender-based approach to scientific learning.

The project is implemented through science clubs or extracurricular spaces facilitated by volunteer STEM teachers, where students engage in group activities to solve scientific problems collaboratively. They then participate in workshops and complete science-focused tasks to develop not just their scientific knowledge, but also their social, creative, and entrepreneurial skills.

The goal is for these science clubs to be adopted by schools after a 3-year assisted implementation, thus becoming sustainable in the long term. By this time, the teachers and the schools are expected to have mastered the PAUTA methodology to implement the project independently, providing more generations of girls from vulnerable groups with opportunities to excel in science and pursue their passions.
