As simple as typing in a complex question in plain English about your most at-risk providers or even what DRGs had the highest number of denials for medical necessity in a specific timeframe, Insights.ai will quickly return a response that can be pinned to a live board for later analysis or further drilling down.

SmartScan.ai

Within the External Audit Workflow module, this intelligent functionality allows users to upload payer request letters which are parsed to extract relevant attributes for case searches, enabling a much simpler search. This eliminates tedious manual work, adding an iterative case search process with more flexibility and expediting the overall resolution of audits.

esMD (Electronic Submission of Medical Documentation)

As a component of MDaudit’s External Audit Workflow, esMD allows users to have a single point of submission and tracking audit documentation, expediting response times back to review contractors. Users benefit from significant cost savings on printing, faxing, labor, and mailing while reducing errors and ensuring your documentation has reached its intended destination.

Yes, it is secure, and we have architected the solution to ensure that your data and generated responses are contained ‘privately’ and encrypted within our cloud infrastructure. It is not accessible to everyone on the open internet.

No, data is not shared with any third-party vendors. All data persists within the MDaudit infrastructure where all security controls have been implemented. Each customer can view and operate only on their own data sets.

Rewording the prompt (question) to be very specific or editing the search query are some flexible options available to the end users. Example: If you want answers on ‘rendering providers’ or ‘attending providers,’ be specific rather than just saying ‘providers’ in the query prompt.

SmartScan.ai leverages AI/ML technology and an evolving knowledge base of payor request letters to automate and accelerate the management of external payor audits. It allows users to upload payor request letters from multiple payors in different formats, which are then automatically processed to extract appropriate patient attributes and other data elements for workflow activities. It expedites the overall resolution of audits in a quicker time frame, resulting in faster revenue retention with fewer resources. In the last 12 months, MDaudit customers have used the feature effectively to retain ~$40M in revenue.

Yes, it is fully secured with robust security controls and hosted on the Amazon Web Services (AWS), private MDaudit infrastructure with HITRUST certification.

SmartScan.ai has successfully extracted all data elements from 81% of scanned letters and partially extracted data elements from an additional 12% of letters resulting in an overall extraction rate of 93%. End-user feedback shows a 92% satisfaction rate. With more training of new incoming letters, overall accuracy incrementally improves.

SmartScan.ai is included as part of the External Audit Workflow module. No additional fee is required for SmartScan.ai.

No, data is not shared with any third-party vendor or the customer. All the data is stored privately within the MDaudit cloud infrastructure where all security controls have been implemented.

During your implementation, we will collaborate with you to train the system on your specific payor letters to ensure you are getting the very most out of the feature. If you scan a letter where the model is unable to make a full extraction, the system will automatically alert the MDaudit team that supports the module so that we can review the document for training. You are also able to provide feedback via a thumbs up/thumbs down to notify us if the extraction output is not meeting expectations.

If you are not a current MDaudit customer, we recommend you submit a security questionnaire. We will provide all the necessary documents, including architecture blueprints, for your comprehensive review. For existing customers, contact your customer success manager who can facilitate and coordinate your requests with our security team.

We will train you in the use of SmartScan.ai as part of the External Audit Workflow as well as the system itself with your organization’s letters in advance to ensure you get the very most out of the feature.
