The Boston Business Journal has released its annual list of the most charitable companies in Massachusetts, a list of 100 employers that gave a combined $425 million in cash contributions to nonprofit organizations last year.

The list (in the slideshow above) includes companies that donated at least $100,000 in cash contributions last year to Massachusetts-based charities. In all, 11 companies gave more than $10 million. Many also contributed with in-kind contributions, employee volunteer hours and other giving.

The $425 million donated by the 100 honorees this year marks a major jump from the $322 million in combined giving in 2021.

The Business Journal’s 18th Annual Corporate Citizenship Awards is scheduled for Sept. 7 at the Seaport Hotel. A ranked list of the largest corporate donors will be unveiled at the event.

The BBJ will also be recognizing at that event the best partnerships between for-profits and nonprofits, to be announced later this week.

The list of contributors is based on data submitted by participating organizations directly to the Business Journal's editorial team and through its website's online nomination portal.
