Firuz Barotov

Firuz Barotov - Staten Island, New York.

Firuz Barotov is a passionate Emergency Medical Technician based in Staten Island, New York. Barotov began his career working with school-age children at Beam Center in Brooklyn, where he fostered creative learning environments that encouraged students’ curiosity.

Firuz eventually transitioned from a Beam Center apprentice to a teen instructor where he facilitated lessons for over 120 students in Brooklyn summer school and after school programs. By collaborating with educators, Firuz designed and developed project-based STEM lessons while supporting children from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.


Pursuing a Career in Healthcare

Inspired by his work with such a diverse community at Beam Center, Barotov decided to pursue a career dedicated to helping others at the most critical moments. He received his EMT certificate from Emergency Care Programs in 2019 and went on to study at CUNY, College of Staten Island, where he received his Associates in Applied Sciences in 2020. During this time, Barotov worked as an EMT with a number of private ambulance providers and as a Ready Responder, providing quality care to patients while reducing the need for patients to be admitted into the Emergency Department.

Firuz worked also for Staten Island's Primary Care Ambulance providing emergency and non-emergency medical support to members of the community and North Shore Ambulance in Queens where he conducted non-invasive interventions to help save lives and reduce harm at emergency sites.


Further Education

Driven by his commitment to providing quality medical care, Barotov began attending Saint Paul’s School of Nursing. He also took a position as a Student Practicing Nurse at Mary McDowell Friends Middle School in Brooklyn, where he draws upon his experience working with children and his medical background to provide appropriate care for students aged 10 to 14 years. He also worked to educate students, teachers, and parents about treatment plans and mutually expected outcomes.

Firuz firmly believes that hard work and dedication are vital to long-term professional success and claims that his career choice requires a significant amount of both time and patience. With an ever-evolving healthcare landscape, he encourages those who are looking to enter the medical field to ensure they are passionate about helping others.

Firuz Barotov is looking forward to further developing his skills as a nurse so he can continue to provide his community with the care they require.
