Celebrating Pride and Our Partnership with Out & Equal

A renewed commitment supports LGBTQ+ workforce inclusion

June is Pride month, a time to memorialize the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and those that have lost their lives due to hate crimes, commemorate the impact that LGBTQ+ individuals have had on our history, celebrate the progress we’ve made in the fight for equality, and reaffirm our commitment to support LGBTQ+ rights. NortonLifeLock has long shown a commitment to our LGBTQ+ employees and we continue to push ourselves to be a more inclusive company. We provide full spousal and partner health care coverage parity, offer transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and have an active LGBTQ+ employee resource group (ERG), N-PRIDE.

We also partner with Out & Equal, the premier organization working exclusively on LGBTQ+ workplace equality. Through their worldwide programs, Fortune 500 partnerships and annual Workplace Summit conference, they help LGBTQ people thrive and support organizations creating a culture of belonging for all.

Out & Equal partners with government agencies and corporations, like NortonLifeLock, to provide executive leadership development, DEI training, and professional networking opportunities that build inclusive work environments. In 2021, we provided a grant to Out & Equal, and our employees attended Out & Equal’s Work Place Summit and their Executive Forum, in addition to other learning opportunities, including a webinar focused on LGBTQ+ allyship.

This year, we have extended our partnership, committing additional resources to Out & Equal. Out & Equal will use this grant to bolster their Workplace Summit participation; provide webinars and forums around the globe; improve corporate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) competency; and benefit an estimated 6,000 LGBTQ+ people.

If you are looking for ways to celebrate Pride 2022, Out & Equal has created a great guide full of ideas and tools for ERGs, CR Teams, or anyone looking to build and support both virtual an in-person Pride engagements this year. Out & Equal’s Pride guide focuses on: People, Resilience, Information, Diversity, and Expression, and you can view the full guide here

While we are happy to be celebrating Pride month this June, at NortonLifeLock, DEI and LGBTQ+ equality are a year-long focus. We will continue to partner with high-impact nonprofits, like Out & Equal, and work within our own company walls to continue to promote LGBTQ+ equity and inclusion.
