The board of directors at Brascan Gold (BRAS) has decided to spin off its Alegre Gold project into a new entity.

The project is located in Pará State, Brazil and would seek an independent listing on the Canadian Securities Exchange.

The company intends to change its name to Brascan Resources Inc. while continuing to hold its interests in Québec-Li properties in northern Québec and the Albany Forks Rare Earth Elements property in northern Ontario.

The spin-out is still pending subject to shareholder approval, which the company plans to seek out at its 2023 annual general meeting.

Balbir Johal, CEO of Brascan, spoke with Sabrina Phillips about the proposed spin-out.

Brascan Gold is a gold exploration issuer based in Vancouver, BC. The company owns a 100 per cent interest in the Québec-Li properties. The company also owns 100 per cent of the Albany Forks Rare Earth Elements property in northern Ontario and an option to earn 100 per cent of the Alegre Gold Project in Pará State, Northeastern Brazil.
