How Luis Omar Took Over The Real Estate & Commercial Lending Industry

real estate

Luis Omar Figueroa is the founder and operator of a successful commercial lending and real estate broker, Hudson Group Realty Network Commercial Lending (HGRN) in New York City.

Humble Beginnings…
Luis Omar was born in a small town of Puerto Rico, Catano.  Before the age of One, he migrated to New York City with his mother.  Although his mother, a single parent, was starting her journey in an unfamiliar territory and foreign language, she was determined to provide her son with better opportunities.

“I was a product of public school education until I enrolled at New York University.  I was the first in my family to graduate from an accredited University.”

My experience as a student at NYU exposed me to a different standard of living.  There was one moment in particular that resonates with me, while on line at the NYU Bursar’s office.  Tuition was due.  My payment sources were scholarships, financial aid, loans, grants and personal monies.  The student in front of me paid with their parent’s credit card. THAT WAS WHEN MY PERCEPTION OF REALITY CHANGED!  I knew who I wanted to become, although there were no examples of this level of success in my life.  I wanted to be able to live a life of abundance rather than scarcity.”

The Journey to Financial Freedom
After graduating from NYU in 1997, Luis Omar owned and operated a few different businesses (Liquor Store, Cell Phone Store, Bar Lounge).  In the early 2000s, he was introduced and subsequently, recruited by the CEO of a lending institution.   The CEO noticed that he was good with connecting with people and understood numbers.

As he established himself as one of the top originators, he consciously continued educating himself in all facets (originations, underwriting, collateral review and secondary marketing).  Eventually, he founded his own commercial lending platform.

“I believe that the way a client feels is just as important as closing their deal.  I give my clients the attention and guidance they need during (usually) the largest financial transaction of their life.  I have a 99% closing ratio.  If they put their trust in me, I will find them the best solution.  I am able to speak to hedge funds in their vernacular and the go back and simplify it for my clients to understand. I am able to negotiate complex deals due to my ability to communicate.”

Luis Omar works on projects big and small, but the largest project he has worked on recently was developing a housing complex in the South Bronx.  His goal is to give his audience some confidence and assurance that there are people that are professional, qualified, and have their best interests at heart.  He wants to give financial opportunity to everyone. But most importantly, provide his clients with access to financial programs they may not know about.  Given his history he can certainly deliver.

A Proven Track Record
Luis has a proven record of successfully helping clients.  He tends to thrive with complex transactions.  His progress in the industry is just one example of how to successfully manage relationships.  Luis Omar’s drive and passion for real estate and commercial lending is proof that it is possible to create a life of wealth and happiness from a simple change in perspective.

Luis Omar is now leading the business in commercial lending and concierge service real estate.
