Her daughter, Kristi, grew up watching her mother’s dedication and has followed in her footsteps, bringing a fresh, innovative approach to the role. Our SoCal Division's Women's Inspiration and Inclusion Network had an amazing time volunteering at Baby2Baby's annual Mother's Day Celebration at The Grove in LA! We helped distribute nutritious food donated by Albertsons as well as other basic essentials and special Mother's Day gifts to the moms and children they serve. Families also received a healthy lunch and enjoyed music, a trolley ride through The Grove and so much more. We loved connecting with the families and celebrating a group of wonderful moms. #MothersDay #Community

Members of our SoCal Division team had an amazing time judging at the DECA International Career Development Conference event for Food Marketing! We were blown away by the creativity and critical thinking skills of the 200 high school students who presented their ideas on marketing to Gen Z and Gen Alpha. It was impressive to see their ideas and get their take on the culture, perks, and benefits they are looking for when working for a grocer. We can’t wait for these future leaders to join our team and help us continue to earn customers for life! We’re thrilled to recognize Seth Knapp, Seattle Division District Manager, who is celebrating 25 years with Albertsons Companies!    In March of 1999, Seth began his career as a Courtesy Clerk at Albertsons in Lacey, WA. He shares:     “My favorite aspects of working for the company are all the relationships you build and the fulfillment you get helping others reach milestone goals. Also, the sheer number of possibilities and variety of roles that are available – there are just a ton of different avenues you can take to continue your evolution, which is really a unique trait of our industry! The best advice I can give for a long and happy career is, be dependable and learn something new every day.”     Seth credits teammates and mentors, Randy Konopaski (“I learned so much about what it takes to be an effective Store Director while working for him in 3 different stores as ASD”), Ralph Nesta, District Manager (“He saw something in me early on and helped me evolve as Ops Specialist and nudged me into Marketing”) and Dennis Schwarz and Austin Johnson, VP, National Merchandising (“for sharing marketing and  merchandising knowledge”) for helping in his career growth at Albertsons Companies.      Thank you for being customer-driven and raising the bar with us for 25 years, Seth! 

It was a very special and patriotic day in Waddell, Arizona as Army Private First-Class Adam Sampson and his family received their new home from Building Homes for Heroes, Inc. donated by Chase Bank, with support from Lowe's and Advance Auto Parts. We were pleased to help welcome Sampson, a Purple Heart recipient, and his family, to their forever home, teaming up with St. Vincent de Paul Society to provide the Sampson family with a $2,500 check to help furnish the space, along with a delicious cake from Safeway’s bakery.    We are grateful for Adam's service to our country and were honored to be a part of this special moment. We hope this new home brings joy and comfort to Adam and his family.     #BuildingHomesForHeroes #Veterans #Community
