Global cargo shipping market size was valued at $2.2 trillion in 2021, and is projected to reach $4.2 trillion by 2031. Charupriya M Chahal, CFA, Director of CE-Operates at Crescent Enterprises, participated in a panel titled “Interconnected Supply Chain Ecosystems: The Power of Collaboration”, at the AIM Congress 2024, earlier this month in #Abu Dhabi, #UAE. The panel focused on the challenges supply chains face, such as fragmented information and lack of transparency. The speakers also explored how collaboration among different parts of the #supplychain can lead to smoother operations, better risk management, and a more sustainable approach. Underscoring the importance of multi-stakeholder approach, Chahal remarked: “In today's complex, globalised supply chains, collaboration isn't optional, it's essential for success. While players need to protect their competitive edge and intellectual property, cautious collaboration fosters transparency and helps navigate challenges. From trade agreements to regulations, everyone – public and private sectors – needs to work together to optimise the flow of goods. This growing interconnectedness is evident in the shipping and logistics sector, where recent years have seen a surge in vertical and horizontal integration, highlighting a shift towards more collaborative models.” The panel was moderated Erdinç Ekinci 🙋♂️ and featured other expert panelists, including Raji Hattar and Sowmya Ramaswami. #AIMCongress2024 #CrescentEnterprises

Time is of the utmost importance in treating stroke patient outcomes, as the patient risks losing more than 2 million brain cells per minute until treatment is administered. Mr. Hamid Jafar, Founder and Chairman of the #CrescentGroup of companies, introduced the world’s first live demo of remote robotic surgery for emergency stroke procedures between #AbuDhabi and #SouthKorea today at Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week. The simulated surgery was successfully executed by XCath, an early-stage medical device company, dedicated to expanding endovascular treatment modalities through smart steerable guidewires and robotic systems, and partly owned by Crescent Enterprises. The procedure to remove a simulated blood clot in the brain was streamed over a live feed and completed within a matter of minutes. The mechanical #thrombectomy surgery demo was performed by Dr. Vitor Mendes Pereira, a neurosurgery pioneer, using a robotic controller located in Abu Dhabi, while the silicone model and the bedside unit were situated in South Korea, 6,949 kilometers from the conference hall in Abu Dhabi. #TeleroboticSurgery enables a way of saving precious time and bring to bear expertise in remote places around the world, Dr. Pereira told the audience. ‘The Father of Robotic Surgery’, Dr. Frederic Moll, underscored the importance of this ground-breaking moment as a crucial stepping stone towards regulatory and industry support, ultimately leading to widespread acceptance and adoption. As a company that is active in 15 countries, including the Middle East and the US, Crescent Enterprises is thrilled to mark 10 years of collaboration with the #ArabianSightsFilmFestival. By helping showcase Arab films in Washington D.C., we aim to foster cultural awareness through the art of filmmaking, a common language that resonates across borders. This milestone was marked by a special program featuring director Farah Nabulsi, who introduced her multi-award-winning film "The Teacher," set in the occupied West Bank, to a captivated audience. The festival's exploration of diverse themes like social tensions and traditional practices offered a powerful platform for #culturalexchange. This resonated with an attendee who remarked: "We seldom see international films in the US, particularly non-European films. International films provide a different perspective that builds a bridge rather than a wall." We must also acknowledge the tireless efforts of Shirin Ghareeb, Director of #ASFF, who for the past 29 years has played an invaluable role in bringing these important films to American audiences.
