Established in 1996 and founded by Telehouse, the NYIIX LA Peering Exchange is one of the largest neutral internet exchange points on the US west coast and in the world, handling traffic to and from Asia and cross country at lightning speed. With 47 data centers globally, Telehouse is home to many of the world’s largest peering exchanges.

Ways to connect to NYIIX Los Angeles:

NYIIX allows multiple ways to access our Peering Exchange. Connecting from Japan to NYIIX is easy. NYIIX Los Angeles is connected to JPIX providing seamless peering between Japan and the US. A JPIX member has the option to become an NYIIX Los Angeles member. We work closely with the end-user to ensure the setup fits their unique needs. 198.32.146.0/24 for IPv4 peering, and 2001:0504a::a50x:xxxx:x /64 for IPv6 peering

Local peering:

In the traditional local peering approach, you will need to install your equipment in one of the data centers where NYIIX LA has deployed its metro infrastructure.

Additionally, to manage peering you will need to also manage additional suppliers for your transport and colocation.

Remote Peering:

  • Remote peering or peering without a physical presence at the local exchange point allows you to reduce costs and deploy faster as there is no need for deployment of any hardware.
  • Customer may order point to point connection from any carrier available in same Data Center as NYIIX POP and connect to Port on Exchange or connect using shared Ports from Resellers or SDN Platforms.

SDN Platform:

Connect to NYIIX LA through SDN Platform providers like Epsilon, Megaport or Packet
