Friday, 30 April 2021 10:20 AM

BOCA RATON, FL / ACCESSWIRE / April 30, 2021 / Hugh Fuller Jr. has built a career on living life in the fast lane. Racing is something that brings him joy and makes him feel alive. Whether it's cruising in a car or racing in a powerboat, he's ready for the adrenaline rush that comes with speeding toward the finish line.

"It's in my blood. I love racing, and I'm so fortunate to have a career in something that means so much to me. When I first started my career, cars were everything to me. The rush of being in a racecar is an indescribable feeling," says Hugh Fuller.

Hugh Fuller Jr. is from Alabama and has a background in car racing. He has participated in several races throughout the 1990s, including at the Road Atlanta in 1991 and the Indianapolis Raceway Park in 1994.

However, after a fulfilling career in car racing, he decided to make a career move and switch to the powerboat circuit in the early 2000s. Offshore powerboat racing is a popular sport in coastal areas in which ocean-going powerboats race against each other on water.

In the early 2000s, Hugh Fuller and John Tomlinson started a symbiotic relationship as driver/throttleman in the competitive world of Super Cat professional offshore powerboat racing. They shared the title of national and world champion at the time.

"It was such an exciting time. I cherish that experience every day, and I'm so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with someone like John," says Hugh Fuller. "He has really helped me become the racer I am today."

More recently, Hugh Fuller won first place in the three-day Clearwater Super Boat National Championship in 2011. He has also amassed nearly 10 world championships, 2 national championships, including the Super Cat World and National championships in 2001, 2002, and 2003. He was also inducted into the APVA Hall of Champions in the early 2000s.

For Fuller, it's all about teamwork. When he spent time car racing, he was in complete control of everything. When it comes to powerboat racing, it's a partnership. He learned the importance of working as a team throughout his transition to powerboat racing. The teamwork skills he took with him have shaped his career today.

"The transition from car racing to powerboat racing taught me the power of teamwork. There's something special about working together in that moment and leaning on each other to race to victory," Fuller said.

Throughout his career, Hugh Fuller Jr. has been able to make great friendships in the field, and he said he's fortunate for everything all the great boat racers he's met have taught him about the world of powerboat racing.
