Project Overview

Broadcast Management Group’s Sports Packaging Division, together with BMG’s Creative and Live Production teams, have been contracted to produce and package 10 AHL Henderson Silver Knights Hockey Games and 10 post game shows.

The BMG REMI solution integrates the best technical and creative talent from around the world to produce live sporting events more efficiently. BMG operates the first, and only Broadcast Operations Center (BOC), and REMI-specific mobile units that allow the most efficient remote work flow available. For this Hockey series the line producer never leaves his home in Phoenix, AZ. Full access to the Broadcast Operations Center, and the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, where the games are played, is provided remotely. The line producer has a full custom Multiview and an RTS RVON intercom panel to seamlessly connect him to the game and full production team.

One of BMG’s expert XPression operators is controlling the CG, located at the Broadcast Operations Center, from his home in Chicago. The XPression CG has a data link back to the game scoreboard at the Orleans Arena for full scoring telemetry. One of BMG’s REMI Mobile units is deployed at the game location, equipped with Grass Valley LDX 86 WorldCam cameras, a complement of box and ENG lenses, audio equipment required for the game, and the transmission equipment needed to send and receive signals from BMG’s Broadcast Operations Center.

The bottom line: With the BMG workflow, a minimum staff of Video Engineer and A1 work from the Broadcast Operations Center, while an EIC, A-2, Utilities and Camera Operators are on location at the game. All the remaining staff can be operating remotely from anywhere in the world with a solid internet connection. The future of producing content is now at Broadcast Management Group.

BMG’s REMI solution was the best option that was still COVID-friendly and budget-smart.
A relatively new combination of technology gave us remote access to the people and equipment we needed to present games to our viewers in an impressively professional manner.
