Data access APIs

Modern capital markets firms require reliable access to consistent, high-quality data to fuel enterprise applications and deliver functionality to end users. Bloomberg offers development teams a wide array of options for data distribution designed to increase flexibility, speed up the development process and maximize efficiency.

Hypermedia API
The Hypermedia API gives firms programmatic access to Data License content with a powerful combination of request-response and subscription based services. Available content includes reference, pricing, regulatory and alternative data. Data License feeds accounting, portfolio management and compliance systems with over 50 million securities and 56,000 fields.

Server API (SAPI)
Get the same real-time market data, historical data, premium reference data and calculation tools available with the Bloomberg Terminal for seamless use in proprietary and Bloomberg-approved client server applications.

Market Data Feed (B-PIPE)
The Bloomberg Market Data Feed (B-PIPE) provides high-performance global connectivity to consolidated, normalized market data in real time. The data can nourish a wide array of Bloomberg applications, as well as third-party, internal proprietary, and non-display (black box) applications, for increased efficiency throughout the front office. Flexible delivery options provide firms efficient access to data — including delivery directly in the cloud.

Platform for Data Distribution
The Bloomberg Platform for Data Distribution provides complete infrastructure for enterprise data distribution, including trusted entitlements, rigorous application and system monitoring, and the ability to distribute any data stream — external, internal, customer, third-party or a combination of these — to users, applications and other destinations worldwide.

Prepare your firm for the future of finance with Digital Transformation Solutions.

Integration and automation

Bloomberg provides technology and solution architecture services that build the foundations for digital transformation and automation. We partner with clients to design multi-product solutions built around their workflows, and our professional services teams help them successfully implement changes at scale.

Bloomberg’s Enterprise iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service), the core of our integration offering, is a hosted and managed platform that can seamlessly transform, enrich and orchestrate data and connected processes, providing a single, powerful point of control for enterprise workflows among Bloomberg solutions, proprietary systems and third-party offerings.

How we help our clients

Powering efficient workflows

For front office roles such as traders, portfolio managers, analysts and salespeople, inefficiencies in workflow can result in costly missed opportunities. Disjointed data sets displayed across multiple applications can slow trade-decision time. Similarly, repetitive data entry slows execution time and risks introducing manual errors.

Terminal Connect gives developers tools to link proprietary apps and customized spreadsheets with the Terminal, enabling your applications and spreadsheets to launch Terminal functions as well as synchronize with Bloomberg Launchpad®, Bloomberg’s customizable workspace.

How we help our clients

Building applications

Create apps that add value and enrich the user experience with easy-to-use development tools. The Bloomberg App Portal gives Bloomberg Terminal subscribers instantaneous access to a diverse library of financial tools provided both by Bloomberg and software developers from around the world.
