Excited for ASIS International Security Solutions Spotlight webinar today on event and venue security! SkySafe CEO, Grant Jordan is speaking on the importance of drone intelligence when it comes to outdoor events and venues. As we approach the warmer months we will naturally see a jump in outdoor events with a high concentration of spectators - making these venues highly susceptible to both curious and criminal drone operators. It’s critical to be able to identify commercial off-the-shelf drones immediately (often the moment they’re switched on), and respond and resolve unwanted drone activity. The SkySafe team will be landing in the music city of Nashville this weekend to attend the 96th Annual AAAE Conference & Exposition! Drones pose a unique challenge to airports and detection is key to maintain airspace safety. Although much of the unauthorized drone activity may not be malicious, the impact can still be far-reaching: ranging from the grounding of flights to potentially more lethal consequences. Safety around airports is paramount, and we look forward to connecting with industry and government colleagues on how we can continue to protect our national airspace. #AAAEBNA Attending the conference? Come visit us at booth #221 to discuss more!

We sat down with SkySafe customer, Joe McCullough, Deputy Chief of Police at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, to discuss why more than ever, universities need #droneintelligence and detection monitoring to ensure the safety and security of its property, people, and assets from #unmannedaircraftsystems. After deploying SkySafe, the University of Illinois’ success rate of locating the pilot and #drone is now nearly 100 percent. New SkySafe research found that five drone manufacturers - including Autel, Parrot, SwellPro, EXO and Yuneec - fell far short of the required specifications for the Federal Aviation Administration's #RemoteID Rule, raising concerns and questions about accountability. Who will hold manufacturers responsible for implementations that do not comply with the ASTM standard for Remote ID? Accountability is needed, but we are all in this together. SkySafe is happy to support #dronemanufacturers in these efforts by providing them with any data or analysis that may help them resolve these issues. Glad we could join the conversation at the Critical Infrastructure Protection & Resilience North America conference last week. We’ve come very far in securing our critical assets, systems, and networks but there’s still a good amount of work to be done to understand the threats, risks, and proper use cases of UAS. Looking forward to continuing our work with government and industry stakeholders to strengthen the security and resilience of our critical infrastructure. “The lack of Remote ID readiness isn’t surprising as it is an incredibly complex endeavor and to date, there is no plan to hold any manufacturers accountable or verify compliance beyond self-declaration. Given this, we don’t believe the deadline extension made an impact, it just pushed it back.” SkySafe CEO Grant Jordan speaks with Commercial UAV News on the Federal Aviation Administration’s #RemoteID rule that went into effect this past weekend. Thanks to Jeremiah Karpowicz & Commercial UAV News for the great conversation & article!
The Federal Aviation Administration’s Remote ID requirement takes effect on March 16, but a new SkySafe report shows a lack of Remote ID readiness from some of the biggest names in the drone industry. https://lnkd.in/ghNWezq8 #drones #uav #uas #uncrewed #droneindustry

This Saturday, March 16 marks the Federal Aviation Administration's deadline for commercial drone manufacturers and operators to be #RemoteID compliant. Yet, our research found that five of the seven drone manufacturers tested will not be compliant, including Autel, Parrot, SwellPro, EXO and Yuneec. Manufacturers need to revisit their efforts around Remote ID implementation to rectify these shortcomings and ensure pilots can operate their drones in a safe and compliant manner. Embracing a culture of responsiveness around industry standards ensures the safeguarding of innovation and safety in the ever-evolving landscape of sUAS technology.
