WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association ITI announced the recipients of its 2022 Industry Awards, which recognizes industry innovations across five awards categories. ITI congratulates Accenture, Adobe, IBM, Intel, and Keysight Technologies for their accomplishments in advancing innovation worldwide.

“As part of ITI’s mission to promote innovation worldwide, these industry leaders exemplify how technology leads to better, healthier, more secure, and more productive lives. I am proud to honor the accomplishments of Accenture, Adobe, IBM, Intel, and Keysight Technologies in our 2022 ITI Industry Awards Program,” said ITI President and CEO and President Jason Oxman.

ITI’s annual Industry Awards Program recognizes the many ways in which technology companies are improving the lives of people and communities across the globe, including addressing issues like climate change and furthering diversity, equity, and inclusion. The 2022 award recipients are listed below:

International Advocacy Award: Adobe

Adobe shares the concerns of many throughout the world about the harms that disinformation, deepfakes, and other forms of misleading digital content can inflict on democracies and society in general. Adobe partnered with Twitter and The New York Times to launch the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI). Its mission is to develop an open-source content attribution system to give users access to the source and edit history of digital images so they can verify the authenticity of the content they encounter online and ensure original creators receive credit for their work. Since its inception, more than 800 tech and media companies – representing the entire ecosystem for creating and disseminating digital content – have joined CAI. Adobe looks forward to continuing our advocacy in favor of ideas and solutions that can empower consumers and help create a more trustworthy online environment.

Environmental Steward Award: Intel

Intel has been committed to achieving net positive water globally by 2030 as part of its strategy to returning and restoring more water being used. Since 2021, Intel has made significant progress in the operation of its on-site water reclamation facilities. These innovative plants allow Intel to treat and reuse water within operations in systems like cooling towers and scrubbers, resulting in a substantial increase in water conservation that reduces the use of freshwater sources. As part of its mission, Intel funds water restoration projects in communities where they operate.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award: Keysight Technologies

Keysight Technologies is dedicated to fostering an equitable and inclusive work environment. Keysight Technologies announced goals to increase internal and external transparency, set and track efforts to improve gender parity and minority representation at all levels, as well as continue to build and foster an equitable and inclusive workplace. As part of these goals, Keysight Technologies has led company-sponsored educational programs, community partnerships and employee-led initiatives that increased access to STEM education for up to 145,000 students, building confidence in STEM skills and creating a strong sense of belonging in STEM-related fields.

Tech Impact Award: Accenture

Accenture has partnered with the Arolsen Archives to build a living digital memorial to honor and remember the victims of Nazi persecution during the Holocaust. Accenture has developed a cutting-edge solution using optical character recognition (OCR) and artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate the rate at which information is extracted and becomes accessible online. Through this method, Arolsen Archives is able to make historical documents and records accessible online and allow vendors and volunteers to extract the document data in an efficient manner for organizations, historians, researchers, and family members still searching for answers. Accenture’s solution utilizing AI and machine learning technology was able to process over 1.5 million documents, which shortened decades or even lifetimes worth of extracting data into a few years.

Corporate Social Responsibility Award: IBM

IBM launched the IBM-HBCU Quantum Center goal to collaborate with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to provide STEM-based opportunities for traditionally underrepresented communities. The IBM-HBCU Quantum Center provides access to IBM Quantum computers via the cloud, educational support for students learning to use the Qiskit open-source quantum software development framework, and funding for undergraduate, graduate and faculty research, along with opportunities for joint research collaborations.

ITI also congratulates AMD, Canon, Equinix, Fortinet, HP Inc., Lexmark, NetApp, Salesforce, SAP, Siemens, ServiceNow, Tata Consultancy Services, Tenable and VMware as honorable mentions for 2022.

The winners were selected by ITI’s 2022 Nominations Committee: Alexandra Reeve Givens, President and CEO, Center For Democracy & Technology; Scott Wallsten, President and Senior Fellow, Technology Policy Institute; Rhett Dawson, Former CEO of ITI and Managing Director, Dawson Group; and the team at Synergy Consulting.
