The Tenafly Education Foundation has been transforming public schools for decades. Also known as the TEF, this non-profit organization raises funds to support the grants requested by Tenafly Public School teachers. These funds are used toward innovative projects and programs to enrich creative and academic experiences in schools. Kai Cheng is a Tenafly Education Foundation Trustee, and he recently discussed how the foundation supports schools, teachers, and children.
“The Tenafly Education Foundation funds teacher-initiated grants to improve academic experiences in Tenafly Public Schools,” Kai Cheng said. Kai Cheng explained that these funds benefit Tenafly Public Schools, which include Smith, Stillman, Mackay, Maugham, TMS, and THS. “The Tenafly Education Foundation is constantly working to raise funds to better local education systems,” Kai Cheng said. Kai Cheng Raised $1.5 Million to Support Study in the US The alumni foundation of Indiana-based Vincennes University offers scholarships to full-time students from Hong Kong who study mathematics or engineering.
Kai Cheng was instrumental in starting that scholarship. “After graduation, I realized that there were a lot of students from Hong Kong who went to Vincennes University who would go on to become very successful in their careers, including many CEOs and presidents, says Kai Cheng. “I created an initiative for the college to establish the scholarship, enabling these students to come to the United States to study,” says Kai Cheng.
Kai Cheng built connections among the alumni and ultimately raised $1.5 million to fund the scholarship. Kai Cheng believes strongly in the value of education. “A good education enabled me to be successful in my career and to help my fellow men and women,” says Kai Cheng.
