PRIDE BUSINESS FORUM

Pride Business Forum aims to support both employers in implementing the principles of LGBT+ equality in the workplace and employees in their efforts to ensure fair treatment by their employers, regardless of their relationship orientation and gender identity.

This initiative was launched at the beginning of the conference of the same name, which has been held annually since 2011 as part of the Prague Pride festival. Since 2017, the conference was moved to the month of June and other activities, not only for member companies, were added. The activities include thematic workshops or networking meetings. Since 2017, while becoming members of Pride Business Forum, companies sign the Pride Business Forum Memorandum declaring their support for LGBT+ diversity and inclusion in the workplace and the active application of the principle of equality.

Since 2018, the Pride Business Forum platform has been awarding the LGBT+ Friendly Employer award to employers who implement measures aimed at better inclusion of LGBT+ employees in the Czech Republic. A year later, the first Pride Business Forum Heroes awards were given to members of the top management of companies and organisations that actively work to improve the position of LGBT+ people both in the workplace and in society. During the same year, Pride Business Forum also held its workshop in Brno, which was its first workshop organised outside of Prague.

In 2021, the organisation created a hybrid knowledge sharing system. A year later, it hosted its first talk show called Pride Business Forum Voices, which brings inspiring personal stories of coming out and promoting equality in the Czech workplace through guest speakers. This talkshow has found a wide audience, which is why Pride Business Forum organises it regularly, just like its conference.

On 17 May 2023, which is also the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, Pride Business Forum announced the expansion of its activities and the establishment of the Pride Business Forum Foundation. It has also separated from Prague Pride, one of the founding members of Pride Business Forum. In addition to its existing activities, the organisation has added a new pillar to its structure with the aim of empowering LGBT+ people. This move will enable them to fully develop their abilities and live openly, not only at work. By expanding its activities, Pride Business Forum is also responding to persistent prejudices in society, high levels of minority stress and minimal activity by the political representation regarding the protection and equality of LGBT+ people.
