The Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS) is an umbrella organization under the Linux Foundation, whose purpose is to accelerate collaboration and innovation in financial services through the adoption of open source software, standards and best practices.

Per our charter, FINOS' mission is to:

1. promote innovation and interoperability in financial technology through industry-wide collaboration on open source software and open standards
2. foster a vibrant technical community comprising financial technology consumers, service and solution providers, and other constituents; and 
3. provide a trusted, neutral forum for community collaboration by offering an efficient, compliant open source collaboration infrastructure and transparent, community-driven technical governance

Financial organizations that adopt open-source software and standards are best positioned to grow in an ever-evolving technological landscape. FINOS, the Fintech Open Source Foundation, is helping to make that happen.

We’re a diverse community of developers, financial services and technology companies large and small. Thanks to over 80 Member organizations which support our 50+ open source, open standard projects and special interest groups, we now have over 2000+ contributors and host a major industry event, the Open Source in Finance Forum.

And we’re already making a big difference, delivering standards and driving collaboration across data and data technologies, cloud services, the financial desktop and more.
