As plastic pollution continues to constitute a global crisis, the Tom Ford Plastic Innovation Prize, in collaboration with Trousdale Ventures, presents solutions and inspiration for a plastic-free future.
The three winners of the Tom Ford Plastic Innovation Prize all employ seaweed to craft sustainable, biodegradable alternatives to thin-film plastic. The $1.2 million purse combines a cash prize and direct investment from title sponsors Tom Ford Beauty, The Estée Lauder Companies, and Trousdale Ventures. Judges, including Phillip Sarofim, CEO and founder of Trousdale Ventures in Los Angeles, highlight that the winners were chosen after a rigorous nine-month testing phase sponsored by Nike.
