This was probably one of the most enjoyable meetings I’ve ever attended🤭 But on a serious note, it was great to sit in and chat with the ‘B keepers’ chatting all things sustainability🐝 Did you know that sending an email uses the same amount of power as boiling a kettle?☕️ I didn’t until this meeting! From discussing our carbon footprint, to planning our fundraising for Beaumont House, there was a lot to discuss, and even more to plan🧠. Another successful ‘B Keepers’ Meeting at Reuseabox™ today 🐝 Each month, our committee comes together to discuss anything B Corp and sustainability-related that can help move our business forward. Naturally, I brought along some B Corp-certified snacks for the occasion. Welcoming Alicia to her first committee meeting, I opted for Tony's Chocolonely and Candy Kittens! Today’s discussion points included: - Planning for Earth Day - Team celebrations for B Corp Month - Making sustainable financial decisions - Updates to our menopause policy - Charity initiatives for Beaumond House - Rollout of our car-share scheme - Transitioning to eco-friendly workwear What I find truly rewarding about being part of Reuseabox is our shared commitment to shaping a better tomorrow for both people and the planet. We are excited to share big #funding news with you. We have officially received $15 million in funding from Ballmer Group – $5 million per year for three years. Not only will this gift provide ReFED with the resources necessary to expand our programming and #impact, but this gift will have a real effect on our ultimate goal – ending #FoodLossAndWaste. The #FoodWaste movement remains underfunded in the United States, particularly in light of the nation’s goal to reduce food waste by 50% by the year 2030. According to our own analysis, the space needs to see about $18 billion in funding per year to make significant progress in reducing food waste, a top #ClimateChange solution that reduces #GreenhouseGasEmissions, #WaterUsage, and #LandUsage. As a nonprofit organization, ReFED relies on funding like this from Ballmer Group to keep accelerating our work – work that is critical to reach that food waste reduction goal. We’re honored and grateful to receive such a transformative #donation, and we look forward to building our programs, expanding our impact, and reducing more food waste with this funding.
