What do you do when you can’t seem to get past go?   This is a question I hear a lot from clients trying to figure out how to start or sustain the work of #DEI and #healthequity   Now that we’re in the action and outcomes era, how do you actually do this?   #ICYMI, my client and friend, Geoff Curtis, Chief Communications Officer at Horizon Therapeutics shared some lessons from the Horizon journey in a recent #equityinprogress LinkedIn audio room    👯♂️Start with your people ➡️ Built an ERG community across identities, cultures and intersectionality    💰Showed up with the benjamins & gave leaders skin in the game ➡️ ERGs were funded out of the company’s business unit and each business leader served as executive sponsors   👷🏽Operationalize across the enterprise ➡️ Created an #inclusion council who was responsible for pulling DEI across key functions, including #HR, #CSR, employee experience, patient advocacy, #communications and more   🪡 Embed in the business ➡️ Brought diverse voices from a range of identities and communities to inform patient engagement, brand planning strategy   The outcomes? ✅ Cultivated an employer #brand that employees have rallied around ✅Achieved pay #equity leveraging a #data-driven approach in 2021 ✅Named one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2023    Sustainable results with DEI requires time and as Geoff said in our recent audio room, “when we get to understand that, it removes the struggle.”   How and where can you start or progress your DEI work today?

We are proudly announcing that we have been listed in the top 100 of the Financial Times Diversity Leaders survey for Europe, for the fifth consecutive year.  Each year, the Financial Times commissions an independent survey of corporations, from all industry sectors(Government Services and Education excluded), employing at least 250 people in Europe. https://lnkd.in/dDF7umUi Based on over 300,000 employee evaluations, it identified the top 850 Diversity Leaders, and Pfizer is proud to be ranked 73rd this year, up from 98th last year.    The results are based on employee evaluations along six diversity dimensions, as well as public indicators of commitment, which were researched for all companies.     Our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council Europe (DEICE) leads Pfizer’s DE&I efforts in the region, and celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2024, so this improved ranking is the perfect birthday present, and confirmation that our approach and efforts are heading in the right direction.     DEICE coordinates Colleague Resource Groups in 27 European countries, plus 12 more at Pfizer Global Supply sites, whose passion for living the company’s values every day is clearly making a difference – not just to their colleagues, but also in the communities in which they live and work.
